AN ORDINANCE
GRANTING A SPECIAL USE FOR A CHURCH AT 1064 DUNDEE AVENUE,
ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, written application has been made for a special use for a
church on the premises commonly known as 1064 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, Illinois;
and
WHEREAS, the subject property is located in a district classified as
B-1, Community Business District, in which churches are established as
special uses; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission has prepared and forwarded a written
report to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council recommending
approval of said application; and
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been held by the Zoning Board of
Appeals after due notice; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has submitted its findings to
the City Council and recommended approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
Section 1. That a church located at 1064 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, Illinois
is necessary for the public convenience;
That the use of the property located at 1064 Dundee Avenue, Elgin,
Illinois is so designed, located and proposed to be operated that the
public health, safety and welfare will be protected;
That substantial injuries to value of other property in the neighbor-
hood will not be suffered by the grant of the proposed special use.
Section 2. That a special use is hereby granted for a church at
1064 Dundee Avenue, Elgin, Illinois, legally described as follows:
Lot 2 except the north 14 feet and except the west 128.5
feet, Block 1, R. N. Botsford's Addition in the City of
Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
Section 3. That the special use granted by this ordinance shall
terminate at such time as the subject premises shall no longer be used
for a church by the Elgin Faith Missionary Baptist Church.

Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
