Cogley, Corporation Counsel SUBJECT: Correction of Scrivener' s Error in Ordinance Relating to Charges for Photocopying of City Records Section 4 . 32 . 010 of the Elgin Municipal Code provides for a schedule for fees for copying of city records . A copy of Section 4 . 32 . 010 is attached. Subparagraph A provides for the charges for photocopying. Records consisting of one to five pages have no charge . Records consisting of six or more pages are intended to have a charge of ten cents per page for photocopying. The current provision relating to charges for documents consisting of six of more pages is improperly worded and incorrectly suggests that the per page charge relates only to pages six through fifteen and not to pages after page fifteen. Attached is an ordinance which would correct this misstatement of the intended charges for photocopying of city documents . Subparagraph 2 now provides that photocopying of documents of six or more pages are to be charged at ten cents per page for all pages . I have placed the ordinance amending Section 4 . 32 . 010A on the City Council' s consent agenda for the next City Council meeting on February 23 , 2005 .
