AN ORDINANCE
REDUCING THE NUMBER OF CLASS A ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR DEALER LICENSES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Subsection (b) of Section 24-4 of Chapter 24 of the
City Code of Elgin, Illinois, as amended, be and is hereby further amended
to read as follows:
"(b) Number of Licenses to be Issued. The number of
Class A licenses issued shall at no time exceed twenty-nine
(29) and the number of Class B licenses shall not. exceed
ten (10) in number. Additional Class B licenses over ten (10)
in number will be considered for each 5,000 increase in human
population over the 1972 base population figure."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law
and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
