G27-74 Ordinance No. G27-74 AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING LOITERING IN MJNICIPAL PARKING LOTS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That there be and is hereby added to Chapter 16 of the City Code of the City of Elgin, Illinois the following section: "16-11.5. Loitering in Municipal Parking Lots. (a) No person shall remain in any municipal parking lot longer than is reasonably necessary to park or remove a motor vehicle. (b) Warning signs shall be erected in all municipal parking lots prohibiting persons from remaining in said lots longer than is reasonably necessary to park or remove a motor vehicle. (c) Any person who shall remain in any municipal parking lot for more than five minutes and who shall have been directed by a police officer of the City of Elgin to leave said parking lot shall be guilty of a violation of this section and shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25.00 nor more than $500.00." eft Section 2.
