AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PRO-LINE GOLF EQUIPMENT AT
MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSES.
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin owns, maintains and operates municipal
golf courses for use by the general public; and
WHEREAS, golf courses operated by non-governmental persons, firms
and corporations offer for sale golf equipment incident to the operation
of said golf courses; and
WHEREAS, the sale of golf equipment at public golf courses operated
by the City of Elgin will tend to promote the use of said courses by
members of the public and reduce operating deficits; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin is a home rule unit authorized to exercise
any power and perform any function relating to its government and affairs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
Section 1. That in the exercise of its home rule power the City of
Elgin hereby authorizes and directs that Pro-line Golf Equipment shall be
made available for purchase at municipal golf courses of the City of Elgin.
eft Section 2. That the price of Pro-line Golf Equipment offered for
sale at municipal golf courses shall be determined by resolution of the
City Council.
Section 3. That all ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict
with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
