AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING SALARY RATES FOR CERTAIN FULL TIME EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the City Council of the City of
Elgin, Illinois, it is fit and proper and to the best interest of the community
that the Compensation Plan and the Schedule of Standard Salary Ranges and the
Official Salary Plan for City employees be from time to time, reviewed and
amended and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin authorized the City Manager
to arrange meetings with Employee Relations Committees, elected by their fellow
employees to represent them for the purpose of discussion of wage and benefit
changes and,
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin's wage and benefit committee has met with the
various Employee Relations Committees and has reached an understanding with
certain committees, said understanding receiving a majority approval of employees
represented and,
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin desires to implement the understandings reached
by the City and the Employee Relations Committees.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That a separate schedule be adopted for salaries of full time
City employees not covered under Article IV, entitled "The Adoption and Adminis-
tration of Position Classification and Pay Plans" of Chapter 6 of the City Code
frik (Ordinance No. S-569, passed December 23, 1955).
Section 2. That effective January 1 , 1974, the following schedule shall
be established covering the identified positions with adjustments for such positions
on July 1 , 1974, January 1 , 1975 and July 1 , 1975.

Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effective from
and after January 1 , 1974.
