AN ORDINANCE
PROHIBITING SMOKING ON MJNICIPAL BUSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS
Section 1. That Article I of Chapter 10.5 of the City Code of Elgin,
as amended, entitled "Department of Public Transportation" is hereby amended
by adding the following section:
"10.5-107. Smoking Prohibited.
No person shall smoke or carry a lighted cigarette,
cigar or pipe in any municipal bus. Any person violating
the provisions of this section shall be fined not less
than $10 nor more than $100."
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
