AN ORDINANCE
TRANSFERRING THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR VEHICULAR AND MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT
MAINTENANCE TO THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 10.5-102 of Chapter 10.5 of the City Code
of Elgin, Illinois as amended is hereby amended to read as follows:
"10.5-102. Functions. The Department of Public Trans-
portation shall be responsible for establishing, operating
and maintaining a public utility for the transportation of
persons within and without the corporate limits of the City
of Elgin and for generally improving local mass transporta-
tion services within the City. It shall operate local trans-
portation services to be provided by motor vehicles on routes
and schedules and their rate charges as from time to time shall
be established as hereinafter provided. The Department of
Public Transportation shall also be responsible for the main-
tenance of all other motorized equipment of the City."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from

form by authority of the City Council.
