G-1600 Ordinance No. G-1600
AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 18 OF THE CITY CODE PERTAINING -
TO WATER POLLUTION CONTROL.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 18-904 of Chapter 18 of the City Code of
Elgin as amended be and is hereby further amended by amending sub-
paragraph (b) to read as follows:
"(b) It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to sell, offer or expose for sale, give or
furnish any synthetic detergent or detergent containing
any phosphorus, expressed as elemental phosphorus, in-
cluding synthetic detergents or detergents manufactured
for machine dishwashers, dairy equipment, beverage equip-
ment, within the City of Elgin from and after December 31,
1973."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law and shall be
published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
