AN ORDINANCE
LIMITING THE WEIGHT OF VEHICLES PERMITTED ON THE KIMBALL AVENUE BRIDGE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That new Section 17-641 be and is hereby added to
Article VI of Chapter 17 of the City Code of the City of Elgin to read
as follows:
"17-641. Load Limit on Kimball Avenue Bridge.
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to operate
any motor vehicle on, upon or across the Kimball Avenue
Bridge when such vehicle, with or without load, exceeds
30,000 pounds.
(b) The City Traffic Engineer shall cause signs
indicating the foregoing weight limit to be erected and
maintained on the approaches to and upon Kimball Avenue
Bridge."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with
the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by
law. It shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
