AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 24, CITY CODE ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR DEALERS" TO PERMIT
DANCING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 1, Subsection (5) of Section 24-6 of
Chapter 24 of the Municipal Code, as amended, is amended to read as follows:
"(5) Permit dancing on premises other than incorporated
clubs, unless the principal business carried on at the
said premises is that of a restaurant, bowling alley, hotel
or motel, or the sale of alcoholic beverages for consumption
on the premises, and provided that express permission is
first secured from the Local Liquor Control Commission."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith be, in the same hereby are repealed.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law and shall
be published in pamphlet form.
