AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, ENTITLED
"FIRE DEPARTMENT" TO MODIFY AND REDEFINE THE STRENGTH OF SAID
DEPARTMENT.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That Section 9.101 and 9.102 of Chapter 9 of the City
Code of Elgin be, and they hereby are, amended to provide therein as
follows: "That the total authorized strength of the City Fire Depart-
ment shall hereafter be Seventy (70) members, of which one member shall
be Chief, no more than four (4) members shall hold the rank of Deputy-
Chief, no more than seven (7) members shall hold the rank of Captain,
no more than sixteen (16) members shall hold the rank of Lieutenant,
and the balance of the members shall hold the rank of Fire-Fighter."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be, and the same hereby are, repealed and of no further force
and effect.
Section 3. That this Ordinance will be effective from and after
its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
