AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 24 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
ENTITLED "ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR DEALERS" TO INCREASE THE NUMBER
OF PERMITTED LICENSES .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS : -
Section 1. That Section 24-4 of Chapter 24 of the
City Code of Elgin, Illinois be, and it hereby is , amended
in the following manner, to-wit:
By repealing sub-paragraph (b) entitled "Number of
Licenses to be Issued" of said Section 24-4, so much thereof
as now reads :
"And the number of Class B licenses issued shall
at no time exceed ten in number. "
And inserting in lieu thereof the following:
(b) Number of Licenses to be Issued: . . . "and
the number of Class B licenses shall not exceed
eleven in number based upon the 1972 City of Elgin
U. S. Census figures . Additional Class B licenses
over eleven in number will be considered for each
5,000 increase in human population over the 1972
base population figure. "
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed and of no further
force and effect.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be effective
from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be
published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
