AN ORDINANCE
TO AMEND ARTICLE 7 OF CHAPTER 27 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS AS IT
PERTAINS TO SERVICE STATIONS AND THE LICENSING THEREOF.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1. That Article VII of Chapter 27 of the City Code of Elgin
be, and the same hereby is, amended by repealing Section 27-701 thereof in
its entirety and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
27-701. License Required. It shall be unlawful to conduct or operate
a service station in the city without having first obtained a license there-
for. The annual fee for such license shall be twenty-five dollars for
stations where not more than three discharge nozzles are maintained; and ten
dollars for each additional discharge nozzle over three maintained.
No such license shall be issued unless the location and equipment to be
used fully comply with the ordinances of the City.
Section 2. All ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be,
and the same hereby are, repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
