e", AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE".
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly held pursuant to
the Statutes of the State of Illinois , and the provisions of
the Elgin Zoning Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals has transmitted
its recommendations to the City Council, all of which have
been duly considered.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS :
Section 1. That Sub-Section B of Section 21-106 of
Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois , as amended,
be , and the same hereby is , amended by adding thereto, the
following paragraph:
That the boundaries hereinbefore described and laid
out in the "Zoning District Map", as amended, be, and
they hereby are, altered by excluding from R-5,
General Residence District, and including in B-1,
Community Business District, the following described
premises , to-wit:
That part of Lots 17 , 18 and 19 of T. Schoonhoven' s
Addition to Elgin and that part of the South half of
Section 12 , Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third
Principal Meridian described as follows : Commencing
on the South line of Lot 17 aforesaid, 23 . 76 feet East
of the Southwest corner thereof; thence North parallel
with the West line of said Lot, 120.0 feet for the point
of beginning; thence continuing North along said last
described course to a point 33 .0 feet South of the North
line of Lot 17 ; thence East parallel with the North line
of Lot 17 to a point 190. 1 feet West of the Southeast
corner of Lot CCXXVII of the County Clerk' s Subdivision
of the City of Elgin as per plat recorded April 30, 1883
as Document 23945; thence Northerly along a line which
if extended would intersect the Westerly line of said
lot CCXXVII , 14.6 feet Southerly from the Northwest cor-
ner thereof to the South line of Summit St; thence
Easterly along said South line to the Westerly line -of
Franklin J . Kramer 's Subdivision; thence Southwesterly
along said Westerly line to a point in a line drawn
parallel with the South line of Lots 17 and 18 from the
point of beginning; thence West along said parallel -line
to the point of beginning. EXCEPT that portion described
as Lot CCXXVII of County Clerk 's Subdivision. Being .1.a--
cated in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois .
(Commonly described as 445 Summit Street.)
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict herewith be, and the same hereby are , repealed and of
no further force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage as provided by law and
shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City
Council.
