Ordinance No . G-1541
AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE".
WHEREAS, a public hearing has been duly held pursuant to
the Statutes of the State of Illinois , and the provisions of
the Elgin Zoning Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals has trans-
mitted its recommendations to the City Council, all of which
have been duly considered .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS ;
Section 1. That Sub-Section B of Section 21-106 of
Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois , as amended,
be, and the same hereby is , amended by adding thereto the
following paragraph:
That the boundaries hereinbefore described and laid
out in the "Zoning District Map", as amended, be,
and they hereby are, altered by excluding from R-2 ,
Single Family Residence District, and including in
B-1, Community Business District, the following
described premises , to-wit:
That part of the East half of the Southwest quarter of
Section 15, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the
Third Principal Meridian, described as follows : Com-
mencing at a point on the North and South center line
of said Section 15 , 874. 5 feet North of the Northerly
line of Larkin Avenue; thence South 89° 18 ' West paral-
lel with the North line of said Southwest quarter 826.32
feet; thence South 0° 02 ' East parallel with said North
and South center line 799 .8 feet thence North 89° 58 '
East 55 feet for the point of beginning; thence South
89° 58 ' West 55 feet; thence South 0° 02 ' East parallel
with said North and South center line 32 . 6 feet; thence
South 89° 18 ' West parallel with the North line of said
Southwest quarter 5 feet; thence South 0° 02 ' East
parallel with said North and South center line to the
North line of Larkin Avenue; thence North 76° 18 '
East along said North line 61.8 feet to a line drawn
rik South 0° 02 ' East parallel with said North and South
center line , from the point of beginning; thence
North 0° 02 ' West along said parallel line 262 .8 feet
to the point of beginning, in the City of Elgin, Kane
County, Illinois . (Commonly describes as 1520 Larkin
Avenue .)
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in
conflict herewith be , and the same hereby are, repealed and
of no further force and effect.
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage as provided by law
and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the
City Council.
