G-1513 AN ORDINANCE Ordinance No. G-1513
AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, ENTITLED "POLICE
DEPARTMENT" TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF LIEUTENANTS AND SERGEANTS OF SAID
DEPARTMENT AND DECREASE THE NUMBER OF PATROLMEN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
Section 1. That Section 8-1 of Chapter 8 of the City Code of Elgin
be, and it hereby is, amended to provide therein, for eight (8) lieutenants
in lieu of the six (6) previously provided therein, ten (10) sergeants in
lieu of the nine (9) previously provided therein and fifty-seven (57)
patrolmen in lieu of the fifty-eight (58) previously provided therein,
thereby establishing the total authorized strength of seventy-six (76)
members in lieu of seventy-four (74) as previously provided therein in
the Elgin Police Department. '
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
be, and the same hereby are, repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
