AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS,
ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE" AS PERTAINS TO CERTAIN
LOT AREA REQUIREMENTS .
WHEREAS , a public hearing has been duly held pursuant to
the Statutes of the State of Illinois , and the provisions of
the Elgin Zoning Ordinance , and
WHEREAS , the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals has transmitted
its recommendations to the City Council , all of which have been
duly considered .
NOW , THEREFORE , ,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That the minimum lot area requirements set forth
for the R- 1 , Single Family Residence District , be changed from
8 ,750 square feet to 20 ,000 square feet by amending Section
21- 107 , sub-paragraph B , sub-paragraph ( 3) of Chapter 21 of
the City Code , to provide as follows ; to-wit:
" ( 3) Lot Area ,
Not less than 20 ,000 square feet" .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be , and the same hereby are , repealed and of no further
force and effect .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage as provided by law and
shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City
Council .
