AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS ,
ENTITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE " .
WHEREAS , a public hearing has been duly held pursuant
to the Statutes of the State of Illinois , and the provisions
of the Elgin Zoning Ordinance , and
WHEREAS , the Elgin Zoning Board of Appeals has transmitted
its recommendations to the City Council , all of which have been
duly considered ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS :
Section 1 , That Sub-Section B of Section 21- 106 of
Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin , Illinois , as amended ,
be , and the same hereby is , amended by adding thereto ,
the following paragraph :
That the boundaries hereinbefore described and laid
out in the " Zoning District Map" , as amended , be ,
and they hereby are , altered by excluding from
M-1 , Limited Manufacturing District , and including
in R-4 , General Residence District , the following
described premises :
That part of the East half of Section 21 , Township
41 North , Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian ,
described as follows : Beginning at the intersection
of the South line of South Street with the East line
of Belmont Avenue , a distance of 1011 . 81 feet ; thence
West at right angles to the last described course , a
distance of 297 . 0 feet; thence South at right angles
to the last described course , a distance of 939 . 17 feet
to the North line of former State of Illinois property ,
thence Easterly along said North line a distance of
427 , 0 feet; thence Northerly parallel with the East
line of Belmont Avenue , a distance of 1949 .43 feet to
the South line of South Street ; thence Westerly along
said South line , a distance of 130 , 0 feet to the place
of beginning , EXCEPT that part described as follows :
That part of the East half of Section 21 , Township 41
North , Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian ,
described as follows : Beginning at the intersection
of the South line of South Street with the East line
of Belmont Avenue ; thence South along the East line of
Belmont Avenue , a distance of 1011 . 81 feet; thence
West at right angles to the last described course , a
distance of 297 . 0 feet; thence South at right angles
to the last described course , a distance of 939 . 17 feet
to the North line of former State of Illinois property ;
thence Easterly along said North line a distance of 118. 5
feet; thence North a distance of 258 feet; thence Easterly
along the South line of proposed Gale Street , a distance
of 298. 5 feet , thence North , a distance of 1690 feet
to the South line of South Street ; thence Westerly
along said South line , a distance of 120 . 0 feet to
the place of beginning . Being situated in the City
of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois and containing 12 . 223
Acres more or less .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be , and the same hereby are , repealed and of no further
force and effect .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage as provided by law
and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the
City Council .
