AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE CITY CODE OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS
¶IITITLED "THE ELGIN ZONING ORDINANCE" , AUTHORIZING A
SPECIAL USE FOR THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF A PRIVATE
AMBULANCE SERVICE ON CERTAIN PROPERTY , IN THE CITY OF ELGIN ,
ILLINOIS :
WHEREAS , the City Council has been requested to authorize
a Special Use for the operation and maintenance of a private
ambulance service on certain property hereinafter described ,
in the City of Elgin , Illinois , which is presently classified
B- 1 , Community Business District , under the provisions of the
Elgin Zoning Ordinance , and
WHEREAS , a written report has been prepared and forwarded
to the Zoning Board of Appeals and the City Council by the
Plan Commission pertaining to this particular petition , and
WHEREAS , a public hearing has been held by the Zoning
Board of Appeals , after due notice by publication , as pro-
vided by Statute , and its findings and recommendations have
been reported to the City Council , and
WHEREAS , the City Council has determined that such Special
Use requested is necessary for the public convenience , can be
designed , located and operated so that the public health , safety
r` and welfare will be protected , and will not cause substantial
injury to the value of other property in the neighborhood in
which it is located and , therefore , should be granted .
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS :
Section 1 . That a Special Use for the operation and main-
tenance of a private ambulance service be , and the same hereby
is , authorized , pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 21 of the
City Code of Elgin , Illinois , entitled "The Elgin Zoning
Ordinance" , on the following described real estate , to-wit :
Lot 4 in Block 25 of Babbitt ' s Addition to a Sub-
division of P . J . Kimball , Jr . ' s Third Addition to
the City of Elgin , Kane County , Illinois-
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof in con-
flict herewith be , and the same hereby are , repealed and of no
further force and effect .

Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage as provided by law and shall
be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council .
