AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE TO
ALLOW CERTAIN DEFERMENTS THEREFROM, AS IT PERTAINS TO
PORTIONS OF STREETS INCLUDED IN THE SIDEWALK SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT DISTRICTS , KNOWN AS THE "GARFIELD-HUFF SCHOOL
SIDEWALK DISTRICT" AND THE " ILLINOIS PARK SCHOOL SIDEWALK
DISTRICT" .
WHEREAS , the City of Elgin is presently engaged in the
installation of sidewalks by special assessment throughout
the municipality , and
WHEREAS , the City Manager and Department of Engineering
and Inspection at the request of the Council have reviewed
the proposed construction of sidewalks in the contemplated
assessment districts known as the "Garfield-Huff School
Sidewalk District" and the " Illinois Park School Sidewalk
District" , and heretofore recommended in view of the
general terrain of the various areas and future contemplated
improvements in said areas , that certain streets therein
be exempted from the requirement of the construction of
sidewalks at the present time and that certain streets be
granted deferment until the construction of contemplated
street improvements , or the completion of the construction
of the existing street improvements , and
WHEREAS , the said City Manager and Department of Engineering
and Inspection have recommended additional deferments in said
districts at the present time.
NOW, THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ELGIN , ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That the construction of a sidewalk be deferred
until the construction of necessary street improvements, or
until further action by this Council , upon and along the
following streets in the City of Elgin , to-wit :
Harrison Street , on the East side thereof , between
Bent Street and Congress Street .
Willard Avenue , on both sides thereof, between
Bent Street and Villa Street .
Bent Street , on the North side thereof, between
Willard Avenue and Maple Place .
Bent Street , on the South side thereof, between
Maple Place and Villa Street ,
Villa Street , on the South side thereof, between
Willard Avenue and Bent Street .
Villa Street , on the North side thereof, between ""
Sadler Avenue and Kirk Avenue .
Sadler Avenue , on the East side thereof, between
Olive Street and Sharon Court ,
Willard Avenue , on the East side thereof, between
Lucile Avenue and Ramona Avenue,
Ramona Avenue , on the North side thereof, one-half
block Easterly from Willard Avenue ,
Virgil Avenue , on the West side thereof, between
Kramer Street and Villa Street ,
Kirk Avenue, on the East side thereof, between
Kramer Street and Getty Street,
Getty Street , on the South side thereof, between
Kirk Avenue and Wright Avenue.
Wright Avenue , on the West side thereof, between
Kramer Street and Villa Street .
Illinois Parkway , on the North side thereof , between
McLean Boulevard and Kane Avenue -
Crystal Avenue , on the East side thereof, between
Buckeye Street and Pine Street .
Section 2 . That all ordinances or parts thereof, in conflict
herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect .
Section 3 . That this ordinance shall be effective from and
after its passage as provided by law and shall be published
in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council .
