AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ARTICLE X OF CHAPTER 7 OF THE CITY CODE TO PROVIDE FOR THREE
ADDITIONAL MEMBERS ON THE PARES AND RECREATION BOARD OF THE CITY OF ELGIN.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section to That Article X entitled "Parks and Recreation Board"
of Chapter 7 of the City Code be, and the same hereby is, amended to
provide for three additional members of said Board by adding and in-
serting the following additional paragraph to Section 7-1002 of said
Article X of Chapter. 7, to-wit:
"In addition to the eight (8) regularly appointed
members of this Board by the City Council, the
Student Government Otganization of Elgin High
School, Larkin High School and St. Edwards High
School shall each be represented by a member
on said Board. Such member to have full voting
privileges and equal authority and responsibility
with all other members duly appointed by the
City Council. Any such student member shall be
a resident of the City of Elgin and shall be the
duly elected or. appointed President, Secretary,
Vice President or. Treasurer of the particular
student government organization. It being the
intent of this provision that if the President of
the particular student government organization is
a resident of the City of Elgin, such President
shall act on the Board and in case of the non-
residency of the President or any other of the
aforementioned officers , they shall, be appointed
to the Board in relation totheir offices in the
order above stated. The terms of such student
members shall be for one year and shall commence
on June 1st of each year and terminate on May 31st
of the following year."
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be, and the same hereby area repealed and of no further
force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from
and after, its passage as provided by law, and shall be
published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
