AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN` TERRITORIES IN -THE-NORTHEAST-QUARTER-OF SECTION 16,
TOWNSHIP` 41 NORTH, RANGE 8' EAST 'OF THE—THIRD— PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, SITUATED
IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY,- ILLINOIS;'"TO-THE CITY OF ELGIN,' ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS',-a Petition signed by all of the owners of record of the terri-
tories -hereinafter-described-has- been-filed with the City Clerk and no
electors-reside on-said territories, and
WHEREAS', said territories are- not within the corporate limits of any
municipality and -are contiguous- to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, said-Petition requests-the- annexation of such territories to
the City of--Elgin-, Illinois, and contains therein--a- statement under oath
that--all -of-the -owners°of record of all land within such territories have
joined in such Petition and that -no-electors reside-thereon.
NOW; .THEREFORE',. BE' IT` ORDAINED BY-THE COUNCIL OF `THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of-the`Northwest-quarter-of Section 16, Township
41 North, Range -8-East-of the Third Principal Meridian,
( 'described as follows: Commencing -at—the most Northeasterly
corner of Country -Knolls Unit No. 14, being a -subdivision of
part -of the- Northwest quarter -of said Section 16; thence
Westerly-along the North line-and- along -said North line ex-
tended Westerly of- said Unit No. 14, a distance of 403.92 feet
to the place of beginning; thence -continuing Westerly along
an extension of-the last-described course, a distance of
917.33 feet to the West line of -the East half of said North-
west quarter; thence Southerly along said West line, a
distance of- 1572.2 feet to a point on the South line of the
Northwest quarter of -said Section 16 that is 1315.68 feet
Westerly of the- center-of said Section; -thence Easterly
along- said South line, a distance -of 795.68 feet; thence
Northerly at right-angles to the last described course, a
distance -of 350:0 feet; thence Easterly at right angles to
the last described course, a distance -of 115.0 feet; thence
Northerly at right angles to• the last described course, a
distance- of 222.06 feet; thence Easterly at right angles to
the last described course, a distance of 27.60 feet; thence
Northerly at right angles to the last described course, a
distance of 1,000.0 feet to the place of beginning. Being
situated -in Elgin Township, Kane County, Illinois, and con-
taining 32.272 acres more or less.
be- and- they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois,- and that the boundary lines- of the City be, and they are hereby,
enlarged and extended-to--include -within the corporate boundaries thereof
the-- said described-territories.
Section 2. That the territories hereinbefore described be, and they
hereby are, included-in- the-R-2 -Single Family Residence District as set
forth in the Elgin Zoning .Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin,
415/6
Illinois) as amended.
Section--3: That a-certified' copy -of this ordinance, together with an
accurate map of the :said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be-in full force and effect upon
its passage as provided by law and shall be-published in-pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
