A N ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES DEDICATED FOR STREET OR
HIGHWAY PURPOSES IN SECTION 18 , TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 9,
EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, SITUATED IN HANOVER
TOWNSHIP, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the territory hereinafter described is dedicated for street
or highway purposes, is not within the corporate limits of any municipality
and is cohtiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin, Illinois, desires to annex said territory
to the corporate limits, pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-1-10 of
Article 7 of the Illinois Municipal Code of 1961, as amended.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows,
to-wit:
That part of Bode Road lying in Section 18, Township 41
North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian, des-
cribed as follows: Beginning at a point on the North line of
Bode Road, said point being the Southeast corner of Lot
6 in Block 4 of Oakwood Park, being a subdivision of part
of the Northwest quarter of said Section 18; thence
Southerly along the East line of Liot 6 extended Southerly,
a distance of 66. 0 feet to the South line of Bode Road;
thence Easterly along said South line, a distance of
895. 24 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 12 of County
Clerk's Subdivision of unsubdivided lands of part of the
Southwest quarter of said Section 18; thence Northerly
parallel with the East line extended Southerly of Lot 6,
Block 4 of Oakwood Park, as aforesaid, a distance of 66. 0
feet to the North line of Bode Road; thence Westerly along
said North line, a distance of 895. 24 feet to the place of
beginning. Being situated in Cook County, Illinois.
be and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City be, and they are hereby,
enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof
the said described territories.
Section 2. That the territories hereinbefore described be, and they
hereby are, included in the R-2 Single Family Residence District as- set
forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin,
Illinois) as amended.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance , together with
an accurate ma.p of the said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder
of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage, ag provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
