AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS
IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SUMMIT STREET, LAWRENCE
AVENUE AND MAPLE PLACE IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of
Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordi-
nance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois , and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City
Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has.
recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and
the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are
desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications
be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the
elk following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois , to -wit:
Maple Place, on the West side thereof, between Bent
Street and Villa Street.
Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and
such hereby is , authorized to be constructed upon and along the following
street, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curbline of the street
shall lie at a point 3 feet distance thereof, to -wit:
Lawrence Avenue, on the North side thereof, between
Hoxie Street and Sexauer Street.
Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and
such hereby is , authorized to be constructed upon and along the following
street, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curbline of the street
shall lie at a point 6 feet distance thereof, to -wit:
Summit Street, on the South side thereof, between
Poplar Court and Porter Court.
Summit Street, on the South side thereof, between
Liberty Street and Porter Court.
rl Summit Street, on the South side thereof, between
Hill Avenue and Poplar Court.
Section 4. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict
herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after
its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
