AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF
SECTION 16, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD
PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, SITUATED IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE
COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a Petition signed by all of the owners of record of the
territories hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk and
no electors reside on said territories, and
WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of
any municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, said Petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and contains therein a statement under oath
that all of the owners of record of all land within such territories have
joined-in such Petition and that no electors reside thereon.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the Northwest quarter of Section 16, Town-
ship 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal
Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at the
Southwest corner of Country Knolls Unit No. 12, being
a subdivision of part of said Section 16, said corner
being a point on the South line of the Northwest quarter
of said Section 16; thence Westerly along the South line
of said Northwest quarter, a distance of 390. 0 feet;
thence Northerly at right angles to the last described
course, a distance of 350. 0 feet; thence Easterly at
right angles to the last described course, a distance of
115. 0 feet; thence Northerly at right angles b the last
described course, a distance of 222. 06 feet; thence
Easterly at right angles to the last described course,
a distance of 27. 60 feet; thence Northerly at right
angles to the last described course, a distance of
1000. 00 feet; thence Easterly at right angles to the
last described course, a distance of 403. 92 feet to the
East line of the Northwest quarter of said Section 16;
thence Southerly along said East line, a distance of
667. 0 feet to the Northeast corner of Lot 230 in
Country Knolls Unit No. 13; thence Westerly along the
North line of said Lot 230 and along said North line
extended Westerly, a distance of 365. 27 feet; thence
Southerly at right angles to the last described course,
a distance of 500. 0 feet; thence Easterly at right angles
to the last described course, a distance of 220. 0 feet to the
West line of Lot 223 in Country Knolls Unit No. 13, as
aforesaid; thence Southerly along said West line and along
the West line of Country Knolls Unit No. 12, as aforesaid,
a distance of 405. 15 feet to the place of beginning. Being

taining 10. 00 Acres more or less.
be and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City be, and they are hereby,
enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof
the said described territories.
Section 2. That the territories hereinbefore described be, and
they hereby are, included in the R-2 Single Family Residence District
as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code
of Elgin, Illinois) as amended.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with
an accurate map of the said annexed territories be filed with the Re-
corder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
