S-870 Ordinance No. S-870 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF ELIZABETH STREET AND GRAND AND WILLARD AVENUES IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordi- nance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Elizabeth Street, on the West side thereof, between the North line of 970 Elizabeth Street And Hammond Avenue. Grand Avenue, on the North side thereof, between the driveway at 698 Grand Avenue and Patton Street. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following street, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curbline of the street shall lie at a point 3 feet distance thereof, to-wit: Willard Avenue, on the East side thereof, between Villa Street and Bent Street. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. I E. C.
