S-862 Ordinance No. S-862 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF NORTH STATE AND SHULER STREETS, AND NORTH ALFRED, LINCOLN, DEMMOND AND LAWRENCE AVENUES IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desir- able. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: North Alfred Avenue, on the West side thereof, between Demmond Avenue and the South line, extended, of 1105 Demmond Avenue. Lincoln Avenue, on the North side thereof, between North Grove Avenue and the existing driveway of the Cook Publishing Company. North State Street, on the East side thereof, between the North line of 749 North State Street, and the South line of 749 North State Street. Shuler Street, on the South side thereof, from South DuBois Street Westerly to the East line of the driveway at 100 South DuBois Street. Demmond Avenue, on the South side thereof, between North Alfred Street and North Aldine Avenue. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following street in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of said street shall lie at a point 3 feet distant thereof, tct-wit: VOLUME XXXII June 8, 1967 193 Lawrence Avenue, on the South side thereof, between Triggs Street and Sexauer Street. Section 3. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be aepealed and of no further force and effect. Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. E. C. Shales, City Clerk Petition of Alfred Scholl to Rezone Property at Approximately 485 Ramona Avenue for Trailer Park On request of Alfred Scholl, Councilman Rauschenberger made a motion, seconded by Councilman Santanni, to table this petition until the June 22, 1967 meeting of the Elgin City Council. Yeas: Councilmen Rauschenberger, Santanni, Tillery and Mayor Alft. Nays: None. Request of St. Edward's High School Students to Permit Painting of House Numbers on Curbs Mr . Graham, a teacher at St. Edward's High School, and four students from the school have asked permission of the Council to paint house numbers on the curbs. Although this work is done voluntarily, a donation is asked after the work is completed. The City Manager recommended that permission be granted with the stipulation that high pressure sales would not be allowed or permission would be revoked. Councilman Santanni made a motion, seconded by Councilman Rauschenberger, that permission be granted. Yeas: Councilmen Rauschenberger, Santanni, Tillery and Mayor Alft. Nays: None . A, 7 (b)
