AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES SITUATED IN THE SOUTHWEST
QUARTER OF SECTION 7, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 9 EAST OF THE
THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN IN HANOVER TOWNSHIP, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record and elec-
tors residing on the territories hereinafter described has been filed with the
City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of any
municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and contains therein a statement under oath
that all of the owners of record of all of the land within such territories and
all of the electors residing thereon, have joined in such petition, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests that in the event that said lands are
annexed to the City of Elgin, that they be zoned B-3, Service Business
District, as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the
City Code of Elgin, Illinois ) as amended, and
WHEREAS, the matter of zoning was referred to the Zoning Board of
Appeals of the City of Elgin to publish notice and conduct the necessary pub-
lic hearing, all as in the statute made and provided, and
WHEREAS the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Elgin has duly
advertised and held a public hearing pertaining to the zoning of said prop-
erty and has recommended that the said lands be classified as B-3, Service
Business District, as provided by the Elgin Zoning Ordinance as amended,
and
WHEREAS, the City Countil of the City of Elgin concurs with rec-
ommendations made by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Elgin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 41
North, Range 9, East of the Third Principal Meridian, bounded
and described as follows: Commencing at the Northeast corner
of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18, Township 41 North';, Range 9
East of the Third Principal Meridian, thence South 89 degrees
35 minutes West 1847. 0 feet, thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes
East 66 feet for a place of beginning, thence North 2 degrees 24 4111)
minutes East 220. 0 feet, thence North 89 degrees 35 minutes
East 243. 0 feet, thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes East 22. 0
feet, thence North 89 degrees 35 minutes East 98. 0 feet, thence
South 2 degrees 25 minutes West 242 feet, thence South 89 degrees
35 minutes West 341 feet to the point of beginning, in Cook County,
Illinois.
be and they hereby are annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they
hereby are, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries
thereof the said described territories.
Section 2. That all of the said territories be, and they hereby are, in-
cluded in the B-3, Service Business District, as set forth in the Elgin Zoning
Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois) amended.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an
accurate map of the said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE That a Petition for Annexation to the City
of Elgin, Kane and Cook Counties, Illinois, was filed with the City Clerk
of the City of Elgin on September 6, 1966 , requesting the Municipal
authorities of the City of Elgin to annex tb the City of Elgin the following
described real estate located in Illanevor Township, Cook County,
Illinois:
That part of the South West quarter of Section 7, Township 41 North,
Range 9, East of the Third Principal Meridian, bounded and described
as follows: Commencing at the North East corner of the North West
Quarter of Section 18, Township 41. North, Range 9, East of the Third
Principal Meridian, thence South 89 degrees 35 minutes West 1847.0
feet, thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes East 66 feet for a place of
beginning, thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes East 220.0 feet, thence
North 89 degrees 35 minutes East 243.0 feet, thence North 2 degrees
25 minutes East 22.0 feet, thence North 89 degrees 35 minutes East
98.0 feet, thence South 2 degrees 25 minutes West 242 feet, thence
South 89 degrees 35 minutes West 3111 feet to the point of beginning,
in Cook County, Illinois.
Such real estate is part of the antovoritayne Fire
Protection District and this Notice is served upon you pursuant to the
provisions of Section 7-1=1 of Chapter 24 of the Illinois Revised Statutes,
as amended.
The aforesaid Petition for Annexation will be considered by the
City Council of the City of Elgin at its Council meeting at the City Hall,
20Z East Chicago Street, Elgin, Illinois, on October 21, 1966
at 7:30 o'clock P. M.
