AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES SITUATED IN THE SOUTH ONE-HALF
(1/2) OF SECTION 7, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 9, EAST OF THE
THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE
CITY OF ELGIN, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record and elec-
tors residing on the territories hereinafter described has been filed with the
City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of any
municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and contains therein a statement under oath that
all of the owners of record of all of the land within such territories and all of
the electors residing thereon, have joined in such petition, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests in the event that said lands are
annexed to the City of Elgin, that they be zoned B-3, Service Business Dis-
/�'` tri ;c as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City
FF Code of Elgin, Illinois), as amended, and
WHEREAS, the matter of zoning was referred to the Zoning Board of
Appeals of the City of Elgin to publish notice and conduct the necessary pub-
lic hearing, all as in the statute made and provided, and
WHEREAS, '.the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Elgin has duly
advertised and held a public hearing pertaining to the zoning of said prop-
erty and has recommended that the said lands be classified as B-3 Service
Business District, as provided by the Elgin Zoning Ordinance, as amended,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Elgin concurs with such rec-
commendations made by the Zoning Board of Appeals of the City of Elgin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the South half of Section 7, Township 41 North,
Range 9, East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as

follows: Commencing at the North East corner of Lord's Park,
being also the North West corner of the East half of the North
West quarter of Section 18. Township 41 North, Range 9, East
of the Third Principal Meridian, thence South 88 Degrees 38
minutes West 4.. 1 feet for the point of beginning; thence contin-
uing South 88 degrees 38 minutes.West 177. 1 feet; thence North
2 degrees 25 minutes East 308. 0 feet; thence North 88 degrees
38 minutes East 77. 1 feet; thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes
East 250. 9 feet to the Southerly right of way of State Route No.
58; thence South 88 degrees 49 minutes East along said right
of way line 100. 0 feet; thence South 2 degrees 25 minutes West
556. 2 feet to a point of beginning, in Cook County, Illinois.

Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be, and they hereby
are, enlarged and extended to include within the corporate bioundaries thereof.

Section 2. That all of said territories hereinbefore described be, and
they hereby are, included in the B-3 Service Business District, as set forth
in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois)

�" Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an
accurate map of the said annexed territories be filed with the Recorded of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form
by authority of the City Council.
