S-827 Ordinance No. S-827 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SHULER, VAN AND ERIE STREETS AND PRESTON, NORTH EDISON AND ELGIN AVENUES, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resoltuion of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has rec- ommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Preston Avenue on the East side thereof between Cooper Avenue and Keep Avenue. Shuler Street on the South side thereof between Wilcox Avenue and Mallery Street, Van Street on the North side thereof between Dubois Avenue and South Worth Avenue. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respect- ive streets shall lie at a point three feet distance thereof, to-wit: North Edison Avenue on the West side thereof between Larkin Avenue and West Highland Avenue. Erie Street on the North side thereof between South Weston Avenue and South Clifton Avenue/ r Elgin Avenue on the South side thereof between South Liberty Street and Illinois Avenue. Section 3. That Ordinance No. S-764 passed October 8, 1964, be and the same hereby is repealed so far as it permitted a sidewalk with a three foot treebank on the South side of Shu.ler Avenue between Wilcox Avenue and Mallery Street. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
