AN ORDINANCE
VACATING A PORTION OF RACE STREET, NORTH STREET, AND DEXTER
AVENUE AS PLATTED IN FOX RIVER MANUFACTURING COMPANY'S
ADDITION IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has acquired title, pursuant to an Urban
Renewal Project known as the Central Area Redevelopment Project, to the
property adjacent to the public streets hereinafter described, and said
streets are no longer maintained or used as public thoroughfares, and
WHEREAS, the public interests will be subserved by the vacation of
the following described streets, to-wit:
PARCEL NO. 1: That portion of Race Street, as platted in Fox
River Manufacturing Company's Addition to Elgin lying Southerly
of a line 75. 0 feet South of (measured at right angles thereto) and
parallel with the North line of Kimball Street and Northerly of
the Northerly line, extended Westerly, of the South 20. 0 feet of
Lot 8 of Fox River Manufacturing Company's Addition to Elgin
in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois.
PARCEL NO. 2: That portion of North Street, as platted in Fox
River Manufacturing Company's Addition to Elgin lying Westerly
of a line 70. 0 feet West of (measured at right angles thereto) and
parallel with the East line of North Street and East of the West
end of North Street as now platted in the City of Elgin, Kane
County, Illinois.
PARCEL NO. 3: That portion of Dexter Avenue, as platted in
Fox River Manufacturing Company's Addition to Elgin lying
Southwesterly of the Southwesterly line of North Grove Avenue
and Northitrssterly of the Northeasterly line of Race Street in the
City of Elgin, Kane County,! Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL,
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the following described portions of Race Street,
North Street, and Dexter Avenue as platted in Fox River Manufacturing
Company's Addition in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, to-wit:

Fox River Manufacturing Company's Addition to Elgin lying
Southwesterly of the Southwesterly line of North Grove Avenue
and Northwesterly of the Northeasterly line of Race Street in the
City of Elgin, Kane County , Illinois.
be, and the same hereby are, vacated for public street and highway purposes.
Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with a
plat of the portions of said public streets vacated, be filed with the Recorded
of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
