S-817 (2) Ordinance No. S-836 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF RIVERSIDE AVENUE, EXTENDED, AND A PORTION OF A PUBLIC ALLEY SITUATED IN LOTS 1 AND 2 IN BLOCK 21 OF J. T. GIFFORD'S PLAT OF ELGIN, CONNECTED TO AND FORMING A PART OF RIVERSIDE AVENUE, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, the Westerly portion of a certain public alley platted and lying in Lots 1 and 2 in Block 21 of J. T. Gifford's Rat of Elgin, Kane Couiaty, Illinois, is not presently being utilized for public alley purposes, said alley being hereinafter described being abutted on 3 sides by property owned and being improved by the First National Bank of Elgin, and WHEREAS, a portion of Riverside Avenue hereinafter described, lying Northerly, and adjacent to, said public alley, is not presently being utilized for public street purposes, and WHEREAS, it is not in the public interest that the City continue to main- tain, repair and regulate said portion of the public alley and said portion of Riverside Avenue, as extended, and elk WHEREAS, the public interests will be subserved by the vacation of the following described portion of Riverside Avenue extended, and said public alley, to-wit: That part of Lots 10 and 10-1/2 of B. W. Raymond's Subdivision of Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 in Block 21 of J. T. Gifford's Plat of Elgin and part of Lot B of the County Clerk's Subdivision of Lot 2 in Block 21 of J. T. Gifford's Plat of Elgin and part of Lots 3 of McOsker's Subdivision described as follows: Beginning at a point on the Northerly line of Lot 10-1/2 that is 60. 0 feet South- westerly of the Southwesterly line of Lot 4 of said B. W. Raymond's Subdivision; thence Southeasterly, parallel with the Southwesterly line, and the Southwesterly line extended Southeasterly, of said Lot 4, a distance of 42. 0 feet to the Northerly line of Lot D of the County Clerk's Subdivision as aforesaid; thence Southwesterly along said Northerly line, a distance of 35. 0 feet; thence Northwesterly parallel with the Southwesterly line extended Southeasterly and the Southwesterly line, of Lot 4 of said B.
