AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ARTICLE IV ENTITLED, "THE ADOPTION AND ADMINISTRATION
OF POSITION CLASSIFICATION AND PAY PLANS", OF CHAPTER 6 OF THE
CITY CODE (ORDINANCE NO. S-569 PASSED DECEMBER 23, 1955) AS PER-
TAINS TO THE PAY RANGES FOR CERTAIN POSITIONS.
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the City Council of the City of
Elgin, it is fit and proper and to the best interests of the community that the
Official Salary Plan of the City of Elgin employees be, from time to time, reviewed
and amended in relationship to economic conditions that exist from time to time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1 . That Schedule II, forming a part of Article IV of Chapter 6 of
the City Code be, and the same hereby is, amended in the following manner, to-wit:
a. By changing the position of City Engineer from pay range No. 27
to pay range No. 28.
b. By changing the position of the Director of Public Works from
pay range No. 24 to pay range No. 25.
c. By changing the position of the Directors of Finance, Parks and
Recreation and Water, and the Police Chief and the Fire Chief, from
pay range No. 23 to pay range No. 24.
d. By changing the position of the Supervisor of the Inspection De-
partment, Police Lieutenant and Deputy Fire Chief from pay range
No. 19 to pay range No. 20.
e. By changing the positions of Superintendent of the Electrical and
Traffic Control Department, Superintendent of Streets, Captain of
the Fire Department, and Sergeant of the Police Department from pay
range No. 17 to pay range No. 18.
f. By changing the position of Lieutenant in the Fire Department from
pay range No. 15 to pay range No. 16.
g. By creating the positions of Water Meter Foreman and Parking
Meter Foreman and including the same in pay range No. 14.
h. By changing the positions of Police Patrolman, Fire Fighter, and
Bookkeeper from pay range No. 13 to pay range No. 14.
