AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS
IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF HIGH STREET, NORTH ALFRED
AVENUE AND ORANGE STREET IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin
requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on
various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council,
the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in
view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing
sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,
ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be,
and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following
streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit:
High Street, on the north side thereof, adjacent to the property
known and described as 352 Vincent Place only.
North Alfred Avenue, on the East side thereof, between Larkin Avenue
and Highland Avenue.
Orange Street, on the North side thereof, between Wilcox Avenue and
Marguerite Street.
Section 2. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
