AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING
A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
CLARK, SHERWOOD, NORTH ALDINE, WILCOX, SOUTH,TRIGGS, LILLIAN AND CARR STREETS
IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin
requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on
various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council,
the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended,
in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the location of existing
sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable.
NOW, . THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and
arch hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets
in the City of Elgin,. Illinois, to-wit:
Clark Street on the East side thereof, between Buckeye Street
_ and Schiller Avenue.
Sherwood Avenue on the West side thereof, between the Northerly
edge of the lot known as 1170 Sherwood Avenue to the Southerly
edge of the lot known as 1200 Sherwood Avenue.
North Aldine Street on the East side thereof, from Lawrence
Avenue North to the Southerly line of 337 North Aldine Street.
Wilcox Avenue on the East side thereof, between Morgan Street
and Adams Street.
South Street on the South side thereof, between Wilcox Avenue
and Walnut Avenue.
Section ;Z. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such
hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of
streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the respective
streets shall lie at a point three feet distance thereof, to-wit:
Triggs Avenue on the East side thereof, between Lawrence
Avenue and West Highland Avenue.

Lillian Street on the South side thereof, between South Clifton
Avenue and McLean Boulevard.
Lillian Street on the North side thereof, between South Melrose
Avenue and McLean Boulevard.
Carr Street on the South side thereof, between South Edison Avenue
and South DuBois Avenue.
Section B. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such
hereby is, .authorized to be constructed upon and along both sides of Lawrence
Avenue between Triggs Street and Heine Street in such a manner that the
edge nearest the curb line of the respective streets shall lie at a point six feet
distance thereof.
Section !4: That all ordinances, or parts thereof, in conflict herewith
be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section S. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
