S-784 Ordinance No. S-784 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF SHULER, VAN, ERIE AND BENT STREETS, NORTH MELROSE AND KIRK AVENUES, AND GRAND BOULE- VARD IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas. and the location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the following streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit: Shuler Street on the North side thereof between South Edison Avenue and South DuBois Avenue, North Melrose Avenue on the West side thereof for 300 feet Northerly of its intersection with Larkin Avenue. Van Street on the North side thereof between South Aldine Avenue and South Melrose Avenue. Erie Street on the North side thereof between South DuBois Avenue and South Edison Avenue. Kirk Avenue on the East side thereof between Getty Street and Kramer Avenue. Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such here- by is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of Bent Street between Lavoie Avenue and Cookane Avenue in such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point four feet distance from the curb line of said Bent Street. r Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be, and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the North side of Van Street between South Alfred Avenue and South Edison Avenue in such a manner that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point 10 feet distance from the curb line of said Van Street. Section 4. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith be repealed and of no further force and effect. Section 5. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage, as provided by law, and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
