AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING A MODIFICATION OF THE SIDEWALK ORDINANCE AS
IT PERTAINS TO CERTAIN PORTIONS OF WASHBURN, HIGH, CON-
GRESS, SHULER, CARR, HENDEE, CLARK, GERTRUDE, MORGAN,
WOLF AND MARGUERITE STREETS AND TROUT PARK BOULEVARD
AND DEMMOND, EDISON, MALLERY AND MURRAY AVENUES IN THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, various petitions have been filed with the City of Elgin
requesting authorization for the modification of the Sidewalk Ordinance on
various streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to authority given by resolution of the City
Council, the City Manager has reviewed the individual requests and has
recommended, in view of the general terrain of the various areas and the
location of existing sidewalks thereon, such modifications are desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That a curb line sidewalk of approved specifications be,
and such hereby is, authorized to be constructed upon and along the follow-
ing streets in the City of Elgin, Illinois, to-wit:
Washburn Street on the North side thereof between Vandalic
Street and Wilcox Avenue.
High Street on the North side thereof along 822 High Street
to Hamilton Avenue.
Demmond Avenue on the South side thereof between Mabel
Street and North Cominohwealth Avenue.
Congress Street on the South side thereof along the lot known
as 450 Illinois Avenue only.
South Edison Avenue on the East side thereof along the lot known
as 283 South Edison Avenue.
Section 2. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of
streets, in such a manner at the edge nearest the curb line of the respectve
streets shall lie at a point feet distance thereof, to-wit:
Washburn Street on the South side thereof between Vandalra
Street and Wilcox Avenue.
Shuler Street on the South side thereof between Mallery
Avenue and Wilcox Avenue.
Carr Street on the North side thereof between Ma llery
Avenue and Wilcox Avenue.
Mallery Avenue on the East side thereof between Shuler
Street and Carr Street.
Hendee Street on the East side thereof along 443 Hendee
Street to Riley Street.
Clark Street on the East side thereof between Wing Street
and Pine Street.
Section 3. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the following list of
streets, in such a manner that the edge nearest the curb line of the re-
spective streets shall lie at a point four feet distance thereof, to-wit:
Gertrude Street on the East side thereof between Adams
Street and Morgan Street.
Morgan Street on the South side thereof between Marguerite
Street and South Commonwealth Avenue.
Section 4. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of
Murray Avenue adjacent to 805 Murray Avenue to Commonwealth Avenue
in such a manner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a
point six feet distance from the curb line of said Murray Avenue.
Section 5. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of
Wolf Street between Weston Avenue and McLean Boulevard in such a man-
ner that the Northerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point eight and
one-half feet distance from the curb line of said Wolf Street.
Section 6. That a sidewalk of approved specifications be and such
hereby is authorized to be constructed upon and along the South side of
Trout Park Boulevard, between Sherwood Avenue and Dundee Avenue in
such a manner that the Southerly edge of said sidewalk shall lie at a point
forty feet North of the South property line.
Section 7. That Ordinance No. S=750 passed June 25, 1964, be and
the same hereby is repealed so far as it permitted a curb line sidewalk on
the East side of Marguerite Street between Morgan Street and Adams Street.

Section 8. That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith
be repealed and of no further force and effect.
Section 9. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its
passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
