S-762 Ordinance No. S-762 AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PORTION OF A PUBLIC ALLEY LOCATED AND PLATTED IN BLOCK 5 OF S. N. DEXTER'S ADDITION TO ELGIN, IN THE CITY OF ELGIN, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, the Northerly portion of a certain public alley platted and lying in Block 5 of S. N. Dexter's Addition to Elgin, abutting onto Lots 8, 9 and 10 in said Block 5, in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, has never been improved, maintained or used as such, and WHEREAS, the public interests will be subserved by the vacation of the following described portion of said public alley, to-wit: That part of Block 5 of S. N. Dexter's Addition to the City of Elgin described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 10 in said Block 5; thence Easterly along the South line of Lots 10, 9 and 8 in said Block 5, a distance of 154. 34 feet; thence Southerly along a line that forms an angle of 90 degrees 16 minutes to the right with the pro- longation of the last described course, a distance of 1.40 feet; thence Westerly, along a line that forms an angle of 90 degrees 04 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the last described course, a distance of 154.33 feet to a point on the West line extended Southerly of Lot 10 in said Block 5 that is 0. 51 feet Southerly of the place of beginning; thence Northerly along said West line extended Southerly, a distance of 0. 51 feet to the place of beginning. Being situated in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the following described portion of a certain public alley as platted and located in Block 5 of S. N. Dexter's Addition to Elgin, in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois, to-wit: That part of Block 5 of S. N. Dexter's Addition to the City of Elgin described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 10 in said Block 5; thence Easterly along the South line of Lots 10, 9 and 8 in said Block 5, a distance of 154.34 feet; thence Southerly along a line that forms an angle of 90 degrees 16 minutes to the right with the pro- longation of the last described course, a distance of 1.40 feet; thence Westerly, along a line that forms an angle of 90 degrees 04 minutes to the right with the prolongation of the last described course, a distance of 154. 33 feet to a point on the West line extended Southerly of Lot 10 in said Block 5 that is 0. 51 feet Southerly of the place of be- ginning; thence Northerly along said West line extended Southerly, a distance of 0. 51 feet to the place of beginning. Being situated in the City of Elgin, Kane County, Illinois be and the same hereby is vacated for public alley and street purposes. Section 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with a plat of the portion of said public alley vacated, be filed with the Recorder of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois. Section 3. That this ordinance shall be effective from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet form by authority of the City Council. Clyde L.
