4` ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN THE SOUTH WEST QUARTER
S' OF SECTION 7, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 9 EAST OF THE THIRD
PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN IN HANOVER TOWNSHIP, COOK COUNTY,
ILLINOIS TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record and
electors residing on the land hereinafter described has been filed with the
City Clerk, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin and contains statements therein under oath that all of
the owners of record and electors residing on such lands have joined in
such petition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows,
to-wit:
Part of the South West quarter of Section 7, Township
41 North, Range 9 East of the Third Principal Meridian
described as follows: Commencing at the North East
corner of Lord's Park, being also the North West corner
of the East half of the North West quarter of Section
18, Township 41 North, Range 9 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, thence South 89 degrees 35 minutes
West, 520. 0 feet; thence North 2 degrees 25 minutes. East
286. 0 feet; thence North 89 degrees 35 minutes East
90. 0 feet for a place of beginning; thence continuing
North 89 degrees 35 minutes East 153. 0 feet, thence
North 2 degrees 25 minutes East 22. 0 feet; thence North
89 degrees 35 minutes East 175. 1 feet; thence North
2 degrees 25 minutes East 250. 9 feet to the South line
of State Route 58, thence North 88 degrees 49 minutes West
along said South line 327. 9 feet; thence South 2 degrees
25 minutes West, 282. 0 feet to the place of beginning,
in Cook County, Illinois.
being contiguous to the City of Elgin and not a part of any municipality be
and they are hereby annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the boundary lines of the City of Elgin be and they
are hereby enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries
thereof the above described territories.
Section 3. That said territories be and they are hereby included
in R-2 Single Family Residence District as set forth in the Elgin Zoning
Ordinance (Chapter 21 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois. )
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with
an accurate map of said annexed territories be filed with the Recorder
of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage as provided by law and shall be published in
pamphlet form by authority of the City Council.
