S-739 Ordinance No. S- 739 rink AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SECTION 10, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 8 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, •ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS. WHEREAS, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13, Illinois Revised Statutes for 1963, provides that any unincorporated territory containing sixty (60) acres or less, which is wholly bounded by any municipality, may be annexed to such municipality by the passage of an ordinance to that effect, and WHEREAS, the territory and lands hereinafter described contain less than sixty (60) acres in area, are not within the corporate limits of any municipality, and are wholly bounded by the existing corporate limits of the City of Elgin, and WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the City Council it is to the best interest of the general public that such territory and lands be annexed to the.City of Elgin, Illinois. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the territory and lands described as follows, to-wit: A part of Section 10, Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the quarter section line, 6. 95 chains North of the center of said Section 10; thence North 79 degrees 30 minutes East, a dis- tance of 1489. 95 feet to the West line of the City of Elgin property (Wing Park); thence Southerly along said West line, a distance of 1810 feet more or less to the Northerly line of Wing Street; thence North- westerly along said Northerly line, a distance of 880 feet more or less to the Southeast corner of Illinois Park School property; thence Northeasterly along the Easterly line of said School property, a distance of 5.37. 0 feet to the,Northeast corner thereof; thence Northwesterly along the Northerly line of said School property, a distance of 781. 0 feet to the North- west corner thereof; thence Southerly along the West line of said School property, being also the quarter section line as aforesaid, a distance of 399. 09 feet; thence Westerly at right angles to said quarter sec- tion line, a distance of 176. 2 feet; thence Southwest- erly a distance of 101. 01 feet to a point on the Northerly • Section 5.
