AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN HIGHLAND AVENUE ADDITION
AND COLUMBIA PARK ADDITION IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY,
ILLINOIS, TO THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS.
WHEREAS, Chapter 24, Section 7=1=13, Illinois Revised Statutes
for 1963, provides that any unincorporated territory containing sixty (60)
acres or less, which is wholly bounded by any municipality, may be
annexed to such municipality by the passage of an ordinance to that effect,
and
WHEREAS, the territory and lands hereinafter described contain less
than sixty (60) acres in area, are not within the corporate limits of any muni-
cipality, and are wholly bounded by the existing corporate limits of the City
of Elgin, and
WHEREAS, in the considered opinion of the City Council it is to the
best interest of the general public that such territory and lands be annexed
to the City of Elgin, Illinois.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territory and lands described as follows, to-wit:
Parts of Section 15, Township 41 North, Range 8
East of the Third Principal Meridian, described
as follows: Lots 1, 2, 3, 13 and 14 in Block 6 of
Highland Avenue Addition, a Subdivision of part
of said Section 15 and that part of McLean Boulevard
lying Easterly of the North and South center line Of
said Section 15 and lying Westerly of and adjacent to
said Lots 13 and 14 in said Block 6, ALSO Lots 12,
13 and 14 in Block 7 of Highland Avenue Addition
and that part of North Weston Avenue lying Westerly
of and adjacent to said Lots 12, 13 and 14. ALSO
Lots 5 and 6 in said Block 6 of said Highland Avenue
Addition. ALSO Lots 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14
in Block 1 of Columbia Park Addition, being a sub-
division of part of said Section 15, ALSO that part
of the Easterly half of a vacated alley lying Westerly
of and adjacent to said Lot 8, that part of said vacated
alley lying between said Lots 9 and 14 and that part of
a vacated alley lying Northerly of and adjacent to Lots
10, 11, 141 and 13; ALSO that part of Heine Avenue
lying between the North line of Lot 14 extended Westerly
and the Southerly line of Lot 13 extended Westerly and
lying Westerly of and adjacent to said Lots 22, 23,
and 24 in said Block 8.
All the above being situated in Kane County, Illinois.
containing less than sixty (60) acres in area, not being within the corporate
limits of any muncipality, and being wholly bounded by the existing corporate
limits of the.City of Elgin, Illinois, be and they are hereby annexed to and
made a part of the City of Elgin.
Section 2. That the above described territory and lands be and they
are hereby included within the corporate boundaries of the City of Elgin.
Section 3. That said territories be and they are hereby included in
R-2 Single Family Resident District as set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordi-
nance (Chapter 2.1 of the City Code of Elgin, Illinois. )
Section 4. That a certified copy of this ordinance together with an
accurate map of said annexed territory be filed with the Recorder of Deeds,
of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon
its passage as provided by law. It shall be published in pamphlet form by
authority of the City Council.
