AN ORDINANCE
ANNEXING CERTAIN TERRITORIES IN SECTIONS 21 AND 22, TOWNSHIP
41 NORTH, RANGE 8, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN,
SITUATED IN ELGIN TOWNSHIP, KANE COUNTY, ILLINOIS, TO THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS,
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all of the owners of record of the
territories hereinafter described has been filed with the City Clerk and no
electors reside on said territories, and
WHEREAS, said territories are not within the corporate limits of
any municipality and are contiguous to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and
WHEREAS, said petition requests the annexation of such territories
to the City of Elgin, Illinois, and contains therein, a statement under oath
that all of the owners of record of all land within such territories have joined
in such petition and that no electors reside thereon, and
WHEREAS, such property is presently zoned for heavy business
uses and light manufacturing uses, all as designated in B=3 District-Business,
as set forth in the Zoning Ordinance of Kane County, Illinois, and the petition
requests that such territories, if annexed to the City of Elgin, be zoned in a
classification which will continue to permit the same or similiar uses as
permissible under the B®3 District classification of the Zoning Ordinance of
Kane County, Illinois, so as to conform with the present zoning within the
County.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS:
Section 1. That the territories and lands described as follows, to-wit:
That part of the Northeast quarter of Section 21
and that part of the Northwest quarter of Section
22, all in Township 41 North, Range 8 East of the
Third Principal Meridian, described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the line between
said Sections 21 and 22 with a line 660. 0 feet
Northerly of and parallel with the South line of the
Northeast quarter of said Section 21; thence Westerly
along said parallel line to the Westerly line of Second
Street (as platted in Fox River Hills, Map No. 1, being
a Subdivision of part of the Northeast quarter of Section
21, as aforesaid) extended Southerly, for the place of
beginning; thence Northerly along said Westerly line
extended.Southerly, a distance of 637. 61 feet to the
South line of South Street, as now dedicated; thence
Easterly along said South line a distance of 414. 37
feet to a point on a line that is 373. 56 feet Easterly

of and paral.lel with the West line of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 22; thence Southerly along
said parallel line a distance of 624. 35 feet to a
point on a line that is 660. 0 feet Northerly of and
parallel with the South line of the Northwest quarter
of Section 22; thence Westerly along said parallel
line a distance of 416. 96 feet to the place of beginning .
Being situated in Elgin Township, Kane County,
Illinois.
be, and they are hereby, annexed to and made a part of the City of Elgin,
Illinois, and that the boundary lines of the. City be, and they are hereby,
enlarged and extended to include within the corporate boundaries thereof,
the said described territories.
Section 2. That the territories hereinbefore described be, and
they are hereby, included in the M=1 Light Manufacturing District, as
set forth in the Elgin Zoning Ordinance (Chapter 2.1 of the City Code of
Elgin, Illinois) as amended.
Section 3. That a certified copy of this ordinance, together with
an accurate map of the said annexed territory, be filed with the Recorder
of Deeds of Kane County, Illinois.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
upon its passage as provided by law and shall be published in pamphlet
form by authority of the City Council.
