18-81 Resolution No. 18-81 RESOLUTION APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 FOR THE CONTRACT WITH INNOVATION LANDSCAPE, INC. FOR THE 2017/2018 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PARK PROJECTS WHEREAS, the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Innovation Landscape,Inc.for park improvements in connection with the 2017/2018 CDBG Park Projects;and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described in Change Order No. 1 attached hereto. This change order provides for the removal of certain lighting improvements, the installation of perforated drain pipes, and the installation of four basketball rims, all at St. Francis Park. The additional work is set forth as Item Nos. I through 3 of Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference. REASONS FOR CHANGE: • The circumstances said to necessitate the change in performance were not reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract was signed. • The change is germane to the original contract as signed. • The change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin and authorized by law. SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: The Contract is being amended to increase the contract amount. The changes will not result in a change to the contract provisions or contract time for work to be completed. ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $668,076.00 BASIS FOR THIS CHANGE ORDER NO. 1: Removal of existing light improvements and installation of new 100 amp pane l/meter/conduit/wiring/GFCI receptacle. $ 3,650.00 Installation of perforated drain pipe and drain emitters. $ 4,780.00 Installation of basketball rims and related improvements. $23,670.00 TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1: $32,100.00 PREVIOUS CHANGE ORDER(S): None TOTAL OF PREVIOUS CHANGE ORDERS: N/A TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $700,176.00 The original amount of the contract with Innovation Landscape, Inc., is $668,076.00. Change Order No. I will increase the original contract amount by a total of $32,100.00, that sum representing 4.81% of the original contract amount. The new contract amount, inclusive of all change orders is $700,176.00. OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same. Item No. 2 Install (170 LF) 6" perforated PVC pipe & (2) NDS pop-up drain emitters at Soccer and Tennis Courts. Item No. 3 Install 4' high vinyl coated fencing (108 LF), install basketball posts w/ goals and hoops, including foundations (4 EA), and install 4' stripes at the 15' and 12' free throw lines per revised Tennis, Pickleball and Basketball Court layout plan.
