RESOLUTION
APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 AND FINAL FOR THE CONTRACT
WITH PLOTE, INC. FOR 2015 NEIGHBORHOOD STREET RESURFACING
WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Plote,Inc.for 2015
Neighborhood Street Resurfacing; and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1 and Final, attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN, ILLINOIS,that Sean R, Stegall,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed to
execute Change Order No. 1 and Final,a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.

PROJECT 2015 Neighborhood Street Resurfacing
CHANGE ORDER No. 1 AND FINAL
CONTRACT: 2015 Neighborhood Street Resurfacing—Bid Number 15-001
SCOPE: This change order allows for the inclusion of pavement patching, signal loops, grading,
landscaping and resurfacing to existing contract quantities such as to allow the resurfacing of the
Parks Department's Sports Way leading into the Highlands golf course and the Sports Complex
as well as balancing contract quantities to reflect actual work completed. These items increase
the overall cost of the project.
REASONS FOR CHANGE: The inclusion of the above items and the increase to contract
quantities were requested by the City to be included in this contract. The change is germane to
the original contract as signed, the change order is in the best interests of the City of Elgin, is
authorized by law and was not reasonably foreseeable at the time the original contract was signed.
SUMMARY OF CHANGES IN CONTRACT AMOUNT: The changes to the contract
include the addition of pavement patching, signal loops, ditch grading, landscaping and
resurfacing of approximately 3,500 lineal feet of twenty foot wide pavement from McLean
Boulevard eastward then northward then eastward again to the parking lot of the Sports
Complex. In addition the contractor completed a patch for the Public Works Department in the
parking lot of the Highlands golf course.
ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $ 2,237,240.00
CHANGE ORDER No. 1
Adjustments to contract pay items for final quantities $ 128,000.00
TOTAL FOR CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 ADD $ 128,000.00
TOTAL REVISED CONTRACT AMOUNT: $ 2,365,240.00
The original amount of the contract with Plote, Inc. is $2,237,240.00. Change Order No. 1 and
Final will increase the original contract amount by a total of$128,000.00 that sum representing
five and one half percent (5.5%) of the original contract amount. The new contract amount,
inclusive of all change orders is $2,365,240.
OTHER CONTRACT PROVISIONS: All other contract provisions remain the same.
