RESOLUTION
AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN EXTENSION AGREEMENT WITH
SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 73
PERMANENT PART TIME MAINTENANCE
AND CUSTODIAN EMPLOYEE GROUP
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that
Sean R. Stegall,City Manager,and Kimberly A. Dewis,City Clerk,be and are hereby authorized and
directed to execute an extension agreement on behalf of the City of Elgin with Service Employees
International Union Local 73 Permanent Part Time Maintenance and Custodian Employee Group,a
copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

EXTENSION AGREEMENT
This Extension Agreement ("Extension Agreement") is entered into as of the
14th day of November , 2012, by and between the City of Elgin (hereinafter
referred as the "City") and the Service Employees International Union Local 73 Permanent Part
Time Maintenance and Custodian Employee Group (hereinafter referred to as the "Union")
(collectively, hereinafter referred to as "Parties").
WHEREAS, the City and the Union are parties to a Collective Bargaining Agreement
effective December 21, 2008, through December 19, 2010 (such Collective Bargaining
Agreement is hereinafter referred to as "Collective Bargaining Agreement"); and
WHEREAS, the Parties hereto have agreed to extend termination date of the Collective
Bargaining Agreement for one year, from December 19, 2010,through December 17, 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties hereto agree as follows:
1. The Preamble in the Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby amended to
provide that the term of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is extended through
December 17, 2011.
2. Article XXVII of the Collective Bargaining Agreement providing for the term of
the Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby amended by amending the
termination date of December 19, 2010 to December 17, 2011. Article XXVI is
hereby further amended by amending the date of December 21, 2010 in the
second paragraph thereof relating to retroactivity to December 17, 2011.
3. Article IX, Wages of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby amended by
adding to the end of the first paragraph thereof the following:
"There shall be no hourly wage increase for the period commencing December
20, 2010 through December 17, 2011."
4. Article IX, Wages of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is hereby further
amended by adding to the listing of existing pay ranges therein the following
additional new pay range for the new position of Permanent Part Time Custodial
Crew Leader:

5. Upon the entry into this Extension Agreement permanent part time custodian
Fidencio Garcia shall be upgraded to the new position of permanent part time
custodial crew leader, Step 5.
6. That each of the Parties represents that it has reviewed the terms of this Extension
Agreement, and by executing this Extension Agreement, agrees to its terms. Each
of the Parties whose signature appears below represent that he/she has the
authority to enter into this Extension Agreement.
7. All of the terms and provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement are
hereby adopted and ratified by the Parties hereto and are extended for the term of
this Extension Agreement except as may be specifically provided for herein.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have entered into and executed this
Extension Agreement as of the date first written above.
