RESOLUTION
ACCEPTING THE GRANT OF THE PALMER FOUNDATION
FOR THE ELGIN ART SHOWCASE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that
Olufemi Folarin, City Manager, be and is hereby authorized and directed to accept the Palmer
Foundation Grant on behalf of the City of Elgin of$21,000 for the Elgin Art Showcase, a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Dear Sylvia:
The Board of Directors of the Florence B. Palmer and Cornelia A. Palmer Foundation have
decided to grant your organization up to$21,000.00 for 2007 for the equipment listed in your
February 12, 2007 letter of inquiry. The grant is in the form of a challenge grant that will be
paid out in an amount that matches your fundraising efforts. Please provide proof of the results
of your efforts no later than November 1,2007.
Note that for future grants the Foundation has decided to give preference to one-time projects
and membership/sponsorship drives,and also prefers the grant be matched by monies raised by
the applicants.
Please remember to include a five-year history of any grants received from this foundation with
future grant requests.
