RESOLUTION
APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 IN THE CONTRACT WITH
RON BAKER PAINTING
FOR 2005 DECORATIVE STREET LIGHT PAINTING
WHEREAS,the City of Elgin has heretofore entered into a contract with Ron Baker Painting
for the 2005 Decorative Street Light Painting; and
WHEREAS,it is necessary and desirable to modify the terms of the contract as is described
in Change Order No. 1, attached hereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that Olufemi Folarin,City Manager,be and is hereby authorized and directed to
execute Change Order No. 1,a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

CHANGE ORDER No. 1
CONTRACT: 2005 Decorative Street Light Painting
SCOPE: This Change Order No. 1 will increase the quantities of existing contract
pay items in order to complete the project as originally intended.
The general contractor for this project is Ron Baker Painting, of Hampshire, Illinois.
REASON FOR CHANGE: This Change Order No. 1 is in the best interests of the City
of Elgin and is authorized by law and the changes provided
for by this change order are germane to the original
agreement as signed; and the changes necessitated by this
Change Order were unforeseeable at the time of execution
of the original agreement.

The original contract with Ron Baker Painting is $23,530.00. By reason of Change
Order No. 1, the contract for the 2005 Decorative Street Light Painting will be increased
in the amount of nine thousand four hundred ninety and 00/100 dollars ($9,490.00),
40.3% of the original contract. The new contract amount, inclusive of Change Order
No. 1 is thirty three thousand twenty and 00/100 ($33,020.00).
