AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A PROMOTIONAL AGREEMENT WITH
AMCORE BANK
(Hemmens Blind Date Concert)
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ELGIN,ILLINOIS,that
Olufemi Folarin,City Manager,and Dolonna Mecum,City Clerk,be and are hereby authorized and
directed to execute a Promotional Agreement with Amcore Bank on behalf of the City of Elgin for
sponsorship in connection with the Hemmens Blind Date Concert,a copy of which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference.

PROMOTIONAL AGREEMENT
_THIS AGREEMENT is hereby made and entered into this 2 ZNO day
of J v/V , 2005, by and between the CITY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS, a
municipal corporation (hereinafter referred to as "City") and
AMCORE Bank, an Illinois corporation (hereinafter referred to as
"AMCORE") .
WHEREAS, City owns and operates a theater commonly known as
the Hemmens Cultural Center; and
WHEREAS, the parties hereto have each determined it to be in
their best interests to enter into an agreement by which AMCORE
shall provide sponsorship for the aforementioned Hemmens Cultural
Center.
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual promises and
covenants contained herein, the sufficiency of which is hereby
mutually acknowledged, the parties hereto hereby agree as follows :
1 . AMCORE shall provide the City with $5, 000 on or before
June 30, 2005 . AMCORE shall also provide $1, 000 worth of
advertising between June 30 and October 7, 2005 .
2 . City shall provide AMCORE with logo placement next to the
Hemmens Blind Date Concert scheduled for October 7, 2005
(hereinafter referred to as "Sponsored Show") in 250, 000 copies of
City' s season brochure.
3 . City shall provide AMCORE with a half page ad in the
Blind Date Concert program book for Sponsored Show on October 7,
2005 .
4 . City shall provide AMCORE with six (6) tickets to the
Sponsored Show on October 7, 2005 .
5. City shall provide AMCORE with logo placement and
hyperlinks on the Hemmens' Adult Season website through October 8,
2005 .
6. City shall include AMCORE' s logo on all print advertising
for sponsored show on October 7, 2005 (newspaper, magazines,
newsletters, etc. ) .
7 . City shall provide admission for up to (ten) 10 people to
a Sponsors Only Reception in South Lobby of Hemmens Cultural Center
prior to the performance of Sponsored Show on October 7, 2005 .
8 . City shall provide AMCORE with credit for Sponsored Show
on the City' s Government Access Cable TV Stations .
9 . This agreement shall be subject to and governed by the
laws of the State of Illinois . Venue for the resolution of any
disputes and the enforcement of any rights arising out of or in
connection with this agreement shall be in the Circuit Court of
Kane County, Illinois .
10 . The terms of this agreement shall be severable. In the
event any of the terms or conditions of this agreement are deemed
to be void or otherwise unenforceable for any reason, the remainder
of this agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
11 . This agreement shall not be construed so as to create a
joint venture, partnership, employment, or other agency
relationship between the parties hereto except as specifically
provided herein.
12 . This agreement shall terminate on October 8, 2005

SUBJECT: AMCORE Bank Sponsorship of the Hemmens Cultural Center / Blind Date
Concert
PURPOSE
The purpose of this memorandum is to provide the Mayor and members of the City Council with
information to consider a co-sponsorship agreement with AMCORE Bank for the October 7,
C 2005, Blind Date Weekend performance at The Hemmens Cultural Center during the 2005-2006
Performing Arts Season.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council approve the promotional agreement with AMCORE
Bank as presented.
BACKGROUND
The staff of The Hemmens Cultural Center has developed a sponsorship program for City
sponsored shows. The goal of the new sponsorship program is to enable the Hemmens to bring in
different acts, offer competitive ticket prices, and broaden the theatre's exposure in the
community and beyond.
To this end, an effort was made to target local and regional businesses for sponsorship
opportunities. AMCORE Bank expressed interest in participating by sponsoring The Hemmens
October 7, 2005 Blind Date Weekend performance. The main items of the sponsorship
agreement are as follows:
Single Show Sponsor—Blind Date Weekend
The Hemmens Cultural Center will provide:
1. AMCORE Bank's logo in 250,000 brochures for the sponsored show distributed through
the Daily Herald, Courier News, Kane County Chronicle, subscriber mailing list and
around town.

I. Approve the promotional agreement as presented.
