Parker, City Manager SUBJECT: Dedication of 530 Glenwood Trail as an Addition to the Trout Park Nature Preserve PURPOSE To submit for City Council consideration the proposed dedication of 530 Glenwood Trail as an addition to the Trout Park Nature Preserve . BACKGROUND The City recently completed the acquisition of 530 Glenwood Trial . The City' s purchase of this property included an agreement with CorLands and the Fox Valley Land Foundation which included the Fox Valley Land Foundation providing the City $23 , 310 and CorLands providing the City $15, 000 to be utilized by the City for the purchase of the subject property. The City' s agreement with the Fox Valley Land Foundation and CorLands also provided for the City to pursue the proposed dedication of the subject property as an addition to the existing Trout Park Nature Preserve . Attached is a draft document which would provide for the dedication of 530 Glenwood Trail as an addition to the Trout Park Nature Preserve . The Fox Valley Land Foundation is processing the proposed dedication with the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission. The next meeting of the Illinois Nature Preserve Commission is on February 5, 2002 . COMMUNITY GROUPS/INTERESTED PERSONS CONTACTED Fox Valley Land Foundation. FINANCIAL IMPACT None . The dedication of the subject property as an addition to the existing Trout Park Nature Preserve will subject the subject property to the Rules for Management of Illinois Nature Preserves and any approved master plan. ALTERNATIVES None . The City has an existing contractual obligation to pursue the proposed dedication. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the proposed dedication of 530 Glenwood Trail as an addition to the Trout Park Nature Preserve . Respectfully submitted, Joyce A.
